NAMA leaders abandoned the purpose for which the party was founded

NAMA leaders, who were empowered by the government, abandoned the purpose for which the party was founded and became executors of government affairs” – Head of NAMA Office

Head of Amhara National Movement (NAMA) Office Tewodros Hailemariam (Dr.) told Asham that “NAMA leaders who have been empowered by the government have abandoned the purpose of the party’s founding and have become executors of government affairs.”

The leader announced that the leaders of the Amhara National Movement have split into two regarding the ongoing relations between the Amhara regional government and the Tigray regional interim administration.

According to the official, there are leaders who say that the relationship between the two parties is good as long as it brings peace. On the other hand, there are those who are leading the war without accountability and who say that the discussion is inappropriate.

According to him, “This division is due to the fact that there are leaders of the movement who have been appointed by the government and are government executives.” They criticized.

Half of the party’s executive officers sit in the government cabinet and have become the executive of the ruling Prosperity Party, not the Amhara people, he added.

The leader stated that “Father can reconcile this matter and continue only when the people in the government leave their positions or when they can leave the party.”

The official added, “They say they will fight for the Amhara people and they cannot say that they are part of the government, which is the enemy of the people. Perhaps if the organization holds the conference, they will give these people their choice.”
